Hello, All. It's been busy and productive up here in Boston. Sometimes it feels like I don't really have anything going on but...yeah, so not true!
First and foremost...we're getting a blizzard tomorrow. Yes, blizzard. They're saying the snow will start later this evening (flurries) and continue through Saturday. We should get about 12-24" of snow and 75+mph winds in some areas. I'm headed to the store tonight to stock up on water and food. We're still expected at work tomorrow unless MBTA closes. I'm going to assume it'll be open then close later...then I can go home and cuddle with Prince. They've already cancelled public school for tomorrow. I'm hopeful (lol) that other things will follow.
Unfortunately, that means I probably won't be seeing Daniel this weekend. He's already on his way up here for his weekly load to New England. If it's a blizzard, I'm not driving in that!
It's a bit chilly at my bus stop. Look at the beautiful sweater my roommate got me for my BeeDay. Very warm and fluffy! |
Anyway, if want to see if I'm okay and all of that, please go through Mom. Power outtages are expected and I'll need to keep my phone charged. I'll update her. I'm sure I'll be fine.
Now...on to the fun stuff:
I know you're very shocked about this but, Shawna and I decorated for the holidays! Yep: We've got some Valentines Day action going on in our area:
Aw...hearts. Notice the sticky note with the dates for Boston's hosting of WICKED! |
More cuteness, right? |
That's my side of the open cube area. Pictures of Brooklynn and a Gator pencil holder and general office stuff. Nothing specacular. I need more pictures to put up with my magnets. |
Also, Shawna has prepped our area for Mardi Gras. That's next Tuesday. She's a good Catholic and therefore has decided it needs to be represented. LOL. She's also going to host a party at her house on Fat Tuesday...she making a bunch of Mardi Gras specific foods, including KING CAKE! I'm thinking a few of us might be late to work on Wednesday? Indeed.
Our white board...Mardi Gras ready! |
I joined Shawna's gym. OMG. 2 days post first workout..I'm sore. Badly. Last night was just cardio and Pilates like stretching. Tonight is break night since Shawna has a test and I need to shop for food/water.
Post work out "glow." |
Shawna cleaned her area today and found a bunch of cool ARC stuff. Vintage stuff, too...
ARC Pins...including Junior Red Cross ones |
Just thought this pin was cute. Some chapters have Hummers as their Emergency Response Vehicle(s). We have Dodge Durangos and a couple of Ambulance style vehicles as our ERVs. |
These patches are so old that the ink is powdery and comes off. They're cool, though. |
Everywhere I go, there are little signs of home. Aunt Leigh, this morning I saw a "Florida Orange Juice" ad. I was driving or I would have taken a picture for you. The one below isn't really a Florida thing except: GRAPEFRUIT!
Yes, it's a vodka ad but it does have grapefruit in it! |
One of the many perks of my job is that in between appointments at schools and such, I get to see the city. Instead of sitting around somewhere, I can sight see (to a certain extent). Here are some pictures:
Boston Public Library |
Courtyard inside Boston Public Library |
This is another old church across from The Boston Public Library. Leigh and Courtney and Daniel and I saw it the day we were driving around to go to brunch. It's nearish their hotel. |
And last but certainly not least is this gem...almost to Prudential Center on the street. Hmm...we almost paid to sneak a peak inside just for fun.
I've titled this one, "Potty Humor." I slay me. |
So, that's about the it from here. I'll be wrapping things up here this afternoon, heading to the store for provisions and battening down the hatches. Here's to hoping I don't have to get up and come in to work tomorrow...just to turn around and go back home. Either way...I'm curling up with TV, Books and movies ... and my Boo, Prince.
FYI: You can subscribe to this blog and be notified automatically when I post to it. I'll still send you an email, though.
Everyone have a great weekend.
Love, Jini
